Every salesperson knows motivation comes and goes. At certain points they hyper-focus and some days one doesn’t even feel like picking up the phone. So where do you find the motivation or inspiration to climb out of these sales motivation slumps.

Culture and Company- Some see selling as respected and is viewed as important, why are those not so much. Sometimes salespeople get to support other times they don’t. The kind of company environment and the culture practiced can be a major influence on the performance. Try to keep the culture of the company as seller-friendly as possible.


Positivity- Rejection is that essential of a salesperson’s life, salespeople deal with ample negativity, with ample no’s before a final yes. It doesn’t happen every time that you pick up a phone I make the call you are going to get a positive response. So it is important that you don’t let such negativity get to you and you learn more from every rejection. Be on the lookout for monotonous work, if you identify it does your best to make it meaningful challenging, and engaging.


Happiness- It is important that your sales team is happy because if they are happy it will directly affect their work, there is a link between human happiness and performance. It is a proven fact that happy employees are 12% more productive on average.


Keep an eye on the goal- Make a set of achievable goals, that way you won’t be stressing yourself out when you are not able to achieve the larger goals. Fulfilling the small list of achievable goals will make you feel better about yourself and you will be able to achieve small milestones to get the bigger goals.
