Job Description
Job Summary:
The General Manager – Control Tower in Waste Management and Recycling plays a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing our waste management operations. This position involves managing multiple sites, ensuring compliance with sustainability and regulatory standards, and driving operational efficiency. The General Manager will be responsible for financial oversight, stakeholder engagement, and technology integration to achieve our mission of sustainable waste management.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
- Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple waste management sites.
- Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with sustainability goals.
- Monitor and optimize processes to enhance efficiency and minimize environmental impact.
- Standardize procedures and workflows to ensure consistency and quality.
Team Management:
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of site managers and staff.
- Foster a culture of safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
- Provide coaching and development opportunities to team members.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure strict adherence to environmental and regulatory standards.
- Implement quality control measures to maintain high-quality recycling processes.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance.
Financial Oversight:
- Develop and manage budgets for each site, optimizing cost-efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to reduce operational costs while maintaining quality.
- Prepare financial reports and forecasts for senior management.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with registered recyclers, government agencies, and corporate partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Represent the company in industry-related events and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in waste management, recycling, or related industries.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Familiarity with technology solutions in waste management
- Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost control.
